Hi all,
I have a heap of live rock in my sump which I'd love to keep in there but I'd like to make the environment for that rock as good as possible.
Currently the tank drain falls over this rock as well as the skimmer outlet as well. This means the rock has no low oxygen or low flow zones.
My sump is 4 foot and has no baffles. I like no baffles because it let's me experiment with layout.
I was thinking of putting my rock in a few buckets with only a few holes drilled an inch or two off the bottom to allow for minimal flow. The buckets would sit an inch or two under the surface. They'd be protected from flow and oxygen this way and would be a great place for bacterias and pods to grow.
What do you guys think?
Thanks
Christian
