I just used cable ties, they were fine.

Thought it was outside due to the light in you're photos, how did you find it with the really hot days?

Kurt, the chiller I use is a Teco TR20, plus I have a fan blowing across the top when it is "stinking hot".

The temp never goes over 27 and is usually at 26.5.

I am really impressed with it as I had the same concerns myself.

What is the evap rate per day?

Hey David. Just wondering if you had any frags of the birdsnest available? Or any montis you may have. Let me know!

Would love to hear an update on this.
How are the goni's going??
Do you get natural light through some laserlite or similar roofing or direct sunlight?? Corals look great!

Hi Corona, Sorry for the slow reply ( I dont look at this as much as I should).

All the Goni's I have are doing very well.

I have a "sky window" installed that provides the tank with about 3 hours a day of natural sunlight
the rest of the lighting is via 3 x Lumerarcs 250w (12k).
I replaced the unit I got from Guppies with these 8 weeks ago and the difference is huge.

Just an update.
I have replaced the orignal egg crate "grandstand"
and have just gone for a single level egg crate/pvc
structure.

All the acro's etc are growing well with good colour and growth rates as you can see.

Yep, it is a really nice "tricolour", The colours are starting to develop (as you can see) and the polyp extension is great.

Always happy to do a trade/sell.

What have you got ?

Just an update with a few photo's of the tank inhabitants (apart from corals) and a couple of
attempted full tank shots.

The fish are as follows:-
3 x Blue Tangs
1 x Sailfin Tang
1x Purple Tang
1x Powder Blue Tang
1x Mimic Tang
1x Moorish Idol
5 x Nemo's
1 x 6 line wrasse

They are all doing very well and the Moorish Idol
enjoys picking all the various organism's that grow on the egg crate.
It took a couple of days to start feeding but although it is early days it seems happy.

Having seen this tank a couple of times in person I could only hope my future attempts at setting up a prorogation system are as good as this setup.

A one of the best propagation setup I have seen.

Very Nice, you will need a second tank soon

Love the moorish Idols one of my fav fish shame about the difficulty in keeping them alive, went to a LFS in rockingham on the weekend forget the name wasnt rocky reefs anyhow they had about 8 in one tank all feeding, they looked pretty good.

Ha ha ha worlds apart mine is just a old tank in a lounge room and really a former shadow of what it was.

I like your setup and a lot of things that I have done wrong you have corrected in your setup (lack of room in my sump area and how you have segregated each part of your sump etc etc).

I definitely like how you have used the outside area of the house in my mind it works well with what you are trying to accomplish.

Anyhow a great setup (don't be disappointed when you see mine remember it crashed a few months back)

LOL Kurt, this IS my second tank.

I agree about the Moorish Idol and there is always a few around. I realise
the success rate with these is very low however I feel a bit more comfortable
about his/her chances as it is feeding on various organisms
that are in the tank and the size of the tank is to it's liking.

Certainly when I put spectrum pellets in the tank it wont go near them.

Absolutely amazing tank! Once my little QT tank has done it's job i will be looking at making it a prop tank and i'll model it off yours!

Where do all the corals go when they grow too much? Seems like you keep it pretty crowded.

The fish are very happy and are growing nicely.

They have done a great job of getting rid of every bit of algae and obviously dont bother the corals. The Moorish Idol did pass away.
he looked fine and was eating but gradually it wasted away. I wont be getting another one of these.

sjp I do have lots of corals so when I get to many my lfs is happy to take them off me.
I am like everyone in that I am always looking for something different. Glad you like the setup.
