RedLineR's SPS, Zoa Garden 23/12/09 [Winner TOTM Aug 2009]

Postby RedLineR » Tue 27 May, 2008 10:00 pm

I finally got of my lazy bum to start a tank journal (tank been running for 2-3 months). I have to say that most of my inspiration comes from seeing Thai (Blue Sniper) SPS tank. I had been hesitant to start a SPS tank due to previous failures in the past. But after 4 yrs experience in keep marines and many more research, advices from fellow reefers and reading.... here it begins.

Dimensions of main tank (LxWxH)
68cmx57cmx50cm

Sump Plans (split into 4 sections)
Image

Lighting
14k 250W MH with Luminarc Reflector
1x15w 6000k compact fluro over sump.

Lets get started with pictures from the begining

Image
Water in and live rock and curious looking dogs.

Image
After 2.5 week cycle, a temporary hospital tank for my sick yellow tang and still curious dogs

Image
Abit of land scaping

Image
The sump.. very tight squeeze

Very nice setup. I like the way you have positioned the live rock it makes the tank look bigger than it really is.

Thats awesome! Would really love to get one for my tank eventually, just worried about waking up one morning and finding a very full moray and no fish! Beautiful dogs you have by the way!

Great to see you have a tank journal now Edi, easier for us to see each others tank progress.
I also would like to know about that eel, might consider getting one if it doesn't attack the fishes.
BTW nice aquascaping, now you just have to load it up with corals.

Yeah i read up about them but you just have to train them to eat off the skewers and mine been eating since i got it 2 months ago. Might be a hit and miss maybe?
