I guess I wanted to throw it outside the box because historically a specific species challenge never attracts anyone.
Yes, this concept does move well away from the challenge, but is an attempt to change peoples attitudes towards keeping marine fish/inverts. It will also give recognition to those working on and providing information about there success (or failures).
Also, this is an attempt to get more people involved by just being able to use there DT and then using this information for Reefpedia.
I personally have shut down my broodstock tanks. I now have my DT setup and am looking at keeping larger fish that would not typically be kept in broodstock tanks as such anyway (Anthias groups, attempting to pair Purple Tangs). I have no expectations of raising them, but to observe pairing, courtship and hopefully spawning and this is what I would like to document myself.
