Introduction:
This will be my 4th Marine tank, but only 2nd with corals. Looking forward to getting in to sps a lot more.

System Objectives: An on going hobby where I can learn as I go. Love making people go "wow" when they walk into our home.

System Type: Mixed Reef

Display System:

Strike up Date: July 2009

Display Tank: 4ft x 2.5ft x 2ft

Display Lighting: 2 x 250w MH, 4 x 54w T5

DIY Stand: 4ft x 2.5ft x 900mm - 90 x45 frame with 12mm MDF skinning. You can find the build here http://www.masa.asn.au/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=202617&highlight=

Hood: In the making

Sump: 800mm x 360mm x 400mm 8mm glass (132L)

Refugium: Refugium RDSB, with Caulerpa sp

Refugium Lighting: Big W clip on light with a single 20w 6700k (cold white) Phillips Energy Saving Globe


Support systems:

System Water: Natural salt water and artificial salt water

Display Water circulation: 2 x MP40w

Return Pump: Resun King 4F 4800lph

Skimmer: Turboflotor Blue 3000 with DIY mesh mod. Ocean Runner 3500 pump.

Evaporation Top Up: Manual Top Up with R/O water


Chemical Support:

Calcium Addition: Reef Octopus CR100 with ARM Media. Weir Pro pH Controller

Alkilinity Addition: Reef Reef Octopus CR100 with ARM Media. Weir Pro pH Controller

Other Equipment:
DIY Temperature Controller
Co2 Canister with Red Sea Solenoid, SMC needle Valve
2 x 300w Aqua One Heaters
DIY 120mm Cooling fans
Quarantine Tank - 2 x 2ft x 1ft x 1ft (4ft x 1ft x 1ft segmented down the middle)

Nitrates: 0
Phosphates: 0
Alkalinity: 10
Calcium: 440
Salinity / Specific Gravity: 1.026

1 x Yellow Tang
1 x Hippo Tang

Turbo Snails
Cerith Snails
Hermits (red legged and micro)

Pink Birds Nest (Seriatopora hystrix)
Daisy Coral (Alveopora sp)

Heliofungia -Fluorescent Yellow Mouth, Pink tips (Heliofungia actiniformis)

they are great tank dimensions, my next tank will be this size!! love the scape too :thumbsup: are you planning on blacking/colouring out the back glass panel?

Flipper: Yer its away from the glass except for the weir. Since that pic i have re aquascaped once again lol. Ill upload new pics soon.

sydneydrewid: I did plan on blacking the back of the tank but in the mist of moving etc i completely forgot to do it. So i might try and get some black vinyl in there somehow.

Thanks for you all kind posts :). If anyone has a decent camera i would like to get some good shots :)

Hey Blaz, my photos were taken with a good digital camera. Not a slr but some good shots out of it. I could drop by sometime an d we could give it a go

I have an olympus fe320 cant seem to get any good shots though.
