So a little bird told me that Oceanarium dropped some frags off to you today... and that little birdie also told me your going to be putting up pictures tonight.

Little birdie also said its not going to let you go to sleep until you do :D

I didn't have the best luck with the last one. It's still hanging on, but I wanted to get another one.

Thanks Pete for the awesome corals!

I'm a bit concerned about my P04 levels now than I'm feeding the anthias like six times a day, I've got some RowaPhos on there and I'm going to add Carbon too. I'll probably up the water changes for a while.

I took a vid of the anthias feeding the other day, I'll get that up at some point or shoot another one.

Maybe we should do an annual MASS + MASWA frag swap. Send an esky with someone who is travelling or post one each way!

Thanks for the compliments guys! The growth is going ok. I think it's going to start taking off now that I have my dosing pumps set up :) (I've only had them running for about the past 2-3 weeks) The coralline growth is already a lot more consistent; I think the stability makes a big difference!

I'm surprised the colours are still looking ok with all the food I've been chucking in there. I think I'll be going through a lot of GFO until the Anthias are on pellets. At the moment I have the auto feeders going three times a day and I'm feeding frozen three times a day as well.

Cheers, Reece! I'm going to have to mod the frag rack so I can put frags underneath easily. Running out of room! :P

I'm using a Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro lens. It's really good! You can skip the IS if you're using a tripod all the time (I use one about one third to half the time for my tank shots) and save a bit of money. I used to use a Canon 60D but now I use a Sony a7R.

Going away for a week on Friday. Hope my coral is still doing well when I get back!

Been having a look at this and other lenses after your great shots. I think i'll end up going for the non IS version to save some money. I generally use a tripod anyhow. But that will be a while away. Will just have to make do with my 70-300L, not ideal but gets ok shots.

Plus i need some nicer growth first!

That 70-300L is pretty sharp right? How about an extension tube or two? You can get them pretty cheap I think, don't need Canon ones, there's no glass in 'em. :D

Lens it's pretty good, but doesn't compare for macro stuff.

I'll have a google around and see what people think

Quick update:

Tank's in a bit of a sorry state. DT is covered in coralline pretty hard to clean off!

Frag tank was overtaken by my macro, lost a few nice corals :(

I've started the process of breaking down the system. I'm setting up a tank in the laundry for all the nicer corals and the bicolour blenny. I'm going to give away the dispars and then get rid of the tank, so I can fix up my bedroom.

It's to hard to maintain; I want a simpler and smaller setup. Also learnt my lesson about putting macro in the frag tank! :P

The new smaller setup will be good because I'm moving in a few months.
