Really happy with the unit!! definatly recomend it.

Comments of the light

Extreme light, has a blue/purple hue that I like comparied to my T5 and compact units I had on the tank B4, has a great ripple effect in tank that my tank didnt have b4 also making shadows defined which didnt exist b4.
The unit has good light spread reaches the corners and back of my 2 foot cube no problems I think one unit may also do a 3 footer imo.

Comes with hanging wires, not that I will be using them.

Alot cooler in heat than my t5 and compact, its been running for about 1.5 hrs in is just slightly warm. Compare it to warmed skin after a bit of a jog.

Corals after 20mins have already adjusted position to grow up towards light must mean they like it. b4 they liked to face forward towards the real sun outside.

Small in size

solid constuction which looks like it can be dismantled for easy access which could also mean that other controllers could be hooked up. There is no reason a proflux couldnt be hooked up imo or a dimmer unit, dont quote me on that.

No legs to stand on took me some time to find bits and bobs in shed to get it to sit right. At the moment I still havent given it its final resting place I just couldnt wait to hook it up!

Fans- could be a bit quieter they sound like a high powered PC not really a drama for me but maybe others if sound is an issue!

Controller- is really basic and bulky could have a longer cord on it between the light and the control unit, plenty of cord from timer to power though. This unit can control three sections (pcp) of the light and has 8 on/off functions that can be adjusted to time of day, day of week and config of lights you want on. I have tried to play around with the timer to get the sections to go on/off but I think there are some programming issues that dont let this happen instantly. The timer also has battery back up incase of black out. Instructions of the timer are hard to understand (broken english at its finest!) I did work it out in the end although did take some time once sused really easy to use and set up!
Ive set mine up so middle panel on first for morning then the two outside ones come on for full day light then they will go off leaving the middle one on for arvo light. see how this goes can be changed easily. thought that I might turn the middle one off and on during the day to simulate lower light eg clouds on particular days.

Thats about it guys.......NOW FOR THE PICS :)

Packaging came in 2 parcels on seperate days. from the time I contacted the company to the time I recieved the item was approx 3 weeks. It took about 1.5weeks to get here after payment, I was told the order had been shipped on a Thursday afternoon and I had it all by the following Wednesday!

That thing definately looks the goods. Very nice.

Where did you get it from? I couldn't find that in your posts. Probably missed it.
And are there any other models.

Not bad at all. I can actually see some of the purple in the substrate.

I'm thinking they should have given you this one for free for the orders they'll be receiving via your review. ;)

Let's run a sweep. I reckon 265 PAR @ 60cm, exactly like the 120W Polish one. If they're CREE 1W LEDs, I can't see why it would be any different in that regard even if it is a cheaper unit.

I have been instructed not to post any of the companys info on forum altho I can give email if anyone wants to PM me.

There is an importer in oz already, I dont know who they are. Their not doing that great a job if you ask me masa must be the biggest forum over here and I havent seen anything about them until I found their info on alibab.com.

That looks like pretty decent light spread on the bead spread!

I'd love to know how they compare to 400w MH's, especially since the polish models claim to be comparable.

Hi luke the ratio ive got no idea of im happy with the amount of blue hue it has and the white is nice and crisp.
I would be tempted to get a unit with maybe some uv led in next time just to see if it is of any benifit, it could bring out the fluro colours in the corals. This unit highlights the greens etc I have already very well better than my last lighting setup, but you know what we are like in this hobby always trying to be better.

Very nice I think Aquaristic aquariums have these same units on display over the tank, looks exactly the same to me... So if anyone wants to see it in person then I suggest go down to aquaristic and have a look.

I'm in contact with the store right now, about to finalise my order actually. To give you some ideas on pricing the 120W version (which I decided on over the 90W version fro my 3' tank as hopefully this way one will suffice rather than two) is worth $189US.

Add onto this price $12US for a timer function, and $54US UPS shipping, for a total of $255US. And given the aussie dollar right now that makes it about $280 AUS delivered to your door.

Seems like a pretty good price to me, more than I was initially willing to pay on lighting. But given I was upgrading to T5's, I figure why not skip the T5's altogether and go for the LED's. I save $160 a year purely on globe changes, and I save likely a small fortune on electricity costs. In my opinion over one year the unit would come pretty close to paying for itself.

I won't post links as Whites said they didn't want to or whatever, but feel free to pm me for the email address of the person I have been in contact with.

I am going for a combination of white:blue:purple, in the ratio 70:41:8 (119led's total). I believe the purple should add a nice little something to the look of the tank, and also help slightly with SPS growths.

Hope that helps a bit!

Spot on luke with the price, this unit will be better than any T5 unit you put on for all of its overall benifts....

This afternoon the two outside lights switched off as planned and left only the middle section on, I think there maybe more blue in this section as it appeared to be a little more purple which is perfect for what I wanted it to do.

Another hick up I found with the unit is that the fans stay on even tho the lights are off. still no drama to me but I think there a few of us out there not consider noise to be a issue. My bro is a leco so ill get him to see if this can be fixed no rush for this to happen. Maybe you can request this to happen from the manufacturer?

Ive used an old clothes horse hanger section and some pegs to choc up some stainless cheese moulds for the haning of the unit. best I could do for the minute.

ok so spec the company have provided me with....

Model number BS-57
1w high power leds x 119pcs
120 degree wide beam angle
3yr guarentee that covers all workmanship and materials + all fixing shipping and packaging cost covered
Install unit 15-30cm above water
L40cm x w21.3 x 7.1cm
>80lm
white 14000K Blue 460nm
2" depth 1537par
12" 423
24" 182par
life span 50,000hrs
= too 250w halide
coverage 7 square feet

Not sure what these mean below?
Pf 0.97
IP 50

Hope this helps... as I said this is what I have been provided from the company. If anyone wants to bring a par meter over no probs....

So the first signs are good! Very exciting!
Hopefully we can get some definite PAR readings soon

With regard to price, is anyone willing to organize a group buy?

Can someone e-mail me the info please?
