foxface

Postby waspy » Fri 05 Oct, 2018 10:07 pm

Hey guys,

I am new to having a marine tank and have just purchased my first fish, it's a 12cm foxface. had it for 2 days now and it is hiding behind rocks and very brown.

My question is, how long will he be like this?

thanks

Don't worry, he is just feeling stressed and should settle down. Brown is his camouflage colour that they can turn off and on, even with stripes. I have kept both one-spot and magnificent fox-face and they are very personable, recognising and interacting with you at meal times. Essential in any tank I recon. Hope your cycling is complete and your parameters are stable as you didnt mention how long your tank has been set up for. They also need quite a lot of space as they are very active.
Cheers,

Hey, thanks for getting back to me, I have had the tank running for close to 6 weeks with natural seawater and added dr tims. the tank is a 128cm tank.

It's been a week now and he has not changed or eaten.

I want to add, that I used marine pure and life rock from my brackish tank to help it cycle.
