A few updates have stuck the perpex on the rear wall cutting the overflow out... happy with the overall outcome.....

Started plumbing and will hopefully do some testing in the next week or so, have put another thread up about the plumbing to attempt to make sure it works or if someone else has done a similar design, before i go gluing everything...

Anyhow enjoy

Kell

Hasn't been tested yet but i got a small container and cut the shape out of it to raise it using the profile of the bottom edge to sit kinda in the cutouts on the side... I then put some filter material underneath to stop vibrations etc... Will see when it's up and running..

Tank's been water tested, all plumbing has been glued and screwed, substrate cleaned, base rock cleaned, tank moved into house

Then 24 hours of trying to build a bommie i was happy with :wall: :wall:

pics to come when i get a chance... :poke:

Kell the pump may be just a little underdone... getting flow where i want it but i'm not sure it's coming through in the amounts i want and need. :spit:

need to obtain a flow meter to test it but so far it looks like it will work :sneaky:

Very close now but i will have to wait for the water to clear up due to all the rain before ordering it :furious:

Next addition when i'm pulling down the old tank will be the RO FBF for carbon....

Still have to attach the return for the chiller once the old tank is moved....

Anyhow here's the pics....

yep runs at the middle of the range for the skimz skimmers... Vinegar bathed it the other day and it seems to perform quite well so fingers crossed...

Mate thanks for the compliments on the scape took some time but i'm trying to emulate the hammer garden you've got in yours on one side of the right hand bommie... :-x :-x :worship:

Hey mate, looks like a fantastic setup!

I was just wondering how much noise do you get with that overflow and draining system?

Cheers :)

none  juts has to be tuned correctly ;)

The only noise really is the water going over the overflow due to the wier comb braking up the water otherwise pretty quite, single valve to tune and off you go

Lookin good- glad the plumbing worked out ok. Have u tried just using a bucket of known volume to work out how much your return pump is putting into the DT?

Ok........ it has been 2 days since all this happened.... :wavey:

After getting the tank filled with 700 odd liters of water, cracking a bulk head whilst in place with said 700 odd liters of water, 13 hours later of transfering ripping bulkhead from old tank :wall: and many many many swear words :bs: I have the tank that i had planned and wished for

Tank is up running and i'm still married

Anthia gone :( it rocketed out of the old tank whilst pulling rocks out and dove to the floor tried to save him but it didn't work :wall:

Corals all seem to be acclimatising  and most look happy opening fully etc....

Skimmer is now running like a dream, initially started with only the one pump running due to the massive amounts of incompetence on my behalf and being extremely tired so went the safe option.

Chiller is getting about 2000 lpr through it

Current Water Chemistry:
Nitrates: 0
Phosphates: .025 or about there
Alkalinity: - 9.4
Calcium: - 440
Salinity / Specific Gravity: 1.026
Magnesuim: - not testing yet :sneaky:

Any how pics...still a little dusty in there :nut:

Mate i've got the Bio pellets going back to the skimmer section and the Phos is straight back into the sump to be returned... it could be more efficent aka straight back into the DT but it appears to be working ok...

Most plumbing is 25mm with some 20mm on one of the returns
