Seems like a definant overkill on the lights. You'd find you will have sufficient lighting with either choice of lights (metal halide 400w or 2 x 150w leds), no need for both.

No idea why you would put a 150w of a refugium. Much better off finding a lower powered pc light that'll yield the same results for 1/4 the electricity.

Regardless, very much looking forward to this eventuating. :pirate:

mcloughlin2, he said it will be set up as a prop tank... i can only assume he will have frag racks in the sump for growing out frags. as well as in the tank....

No. Have ordered a Deltec TC2060 for this tank.

Removed that skimmer from my main tank to make room for storing various corals until i set this tank up.

It usually runs in conjuction with my BK. I run two skimmers together. Will return it to the large tank when transfer is complete. until then the BK is handelling the load.

Could not take any pixs of some of the better acans and scollies but these are all going in the new prop tank. Have got about 60 nice acans, about 20 specimens have about 5-7 colours in them, and about 50 scollies in my sump and at a friends house waiting to transfer into the above setup.

Image

I will frag a common scolly to see just how long it takes to heal. If succesfull then its likely that ill frag a fair few nice specimens. By all accounts so far this appears to be a very long process for scollies, may not be worth it but will give it a go with one.

Look so tiny compared to what im used to.
Its no BK but im confident it will do the job

Now, to decide if ill have the overflow go directly into the skimmer or not...

If this is primarily a prop tank i wouldnt feed the overflow through the skimmer for when/if you decide to start dosing/feeding rotifers etc you want to be able to turn the skimmer off and allow them circulate through the system rather than instantly removed.

Good point

Some have come from ACANMAN, CDU and CORAL CANDY. All three on this forum, great people with great stock.

Have also received some from a mate up north who collects and exports for a living  Will take pixs in the future of these specimens and post, some will knock your socks off. But he has so many commitments to international purchases that have paid up front that ill get drips and drabs until he meets his prepaid commitments.

Did I mention work will start soon on my 12m tank. Will then convert the internal tanks 10ft and 3ft and 6 fter into prop tanks.

Regards,
FP

Wish I could say ive done something to this tank, all ive done is dumped equipment in it as a storage place.

Damn Im lazy. :poke:

have the next two days off and will try and fill with ASW, just so i can finally use up 3 bags of ASW that ive had lying there for 3 years. Not looking forward to slooooowly wait for the RODI water to fill 20lts containers one at a time.

Will use the first fill as a test for leaks, then use the water as a water change for my larger tank.

Have organised for NSW to be delivered next friday, planning on changing 1000lts in the 10fter and fill this sucker also.

Then Ill start putting some live rock in there and transfer some of the hardier corals. If there is no problems ill transfer my LPS over.

Anyway, will post pixs in coming weeks.

Have received some pretty devastating news today, my young one has been diagnosed with cancer.

Still a little shell shocked but will be breaking down my tanks in coming weeks as will no doubt dedicated no time to it.

Will sell everything so keep eyes on classifies.

Will sell in stages, corals, live rock and fish then my equipments then all the other bits.

regards
