Hi my name is Tyson and welcome to my tank journal. this is my second salt water fish tank first one i was a complete noob and got screwed around by my lfs (wont b goin back there ) since bein on masa have learnt so much more :cheers: and will always keep refering back to masa and bugging marcus2529 who lives around the corner :thumbsup:

System Objectives: To have a super sweet fish tank. filled with sps corals and a couple more fish want it to look very vibrant and just stick out and eventually get the fish tank into the lounge room witch the misus now regrets saying put it in the spare room

System Type: mixed Reef Tank, soon to be sps reef cant wait

Display System:

Strike up Date: June 2010

Display Tank: 4x2x2 Tank, left hand corner weir. black back ground

Display Lighting: 10x 84 w powermodule was for my next tank but led blew

Stand: 2 door wooden stand.

Sump: Standard 3 foot tank, divided into 3 sections.. Skimmer ==> DSB ==> Return Section.

Refugium:dsb Housing Macro Algae and Live Rock.

Refugium Lighting: 120 watt= 24w Energy Saver.


Support systems:
water changes[b]:[ 40 litres a week, asw

[b]System Water:
red sea coral pro salt . top up ro/di

Display Water circulation: 2 x Vortech MP40, 2 x JVP 6000 lph Pump.

Return Pump: eheim 5000lph.

Skimmer: Reef Octopus 800L.

Evaporation Top Up:Stefani Auto topup.

cooling system[b]:[ hailea chiller, forget wat model :nut:

[b]Chemical Support:


Calcium Addition: Reef Octopus Calcium Reactor controlled by profilux

Alkilinity Addition: Reef Octopus Calcium Reactor controlled by profilux

:controllers: profilux pro 2 controlls heater chiller ca reactor

Other Chemical Maintenance: Prodibio using Bioptum 2 vials every 2 weeks , Bio-Digest halfa vial every other week , Reef Booster 1 vial every week 1 hour after bt and or bd.

Phosphates: 0.00ppm (Hanna Checker)
Alkalinity: 7.4 dKH
Calcium: 450ppm
Salinity / Specific Gravity:1.024
Magnesuim: 1470ppm

alright my first update, as who read my discussion in the general discussion section i craked my sump :wall: was the worst week of my life wat a week used the wrong silicon :furious: and the plumbing leaked but all good now thanks to every1 who helped out on the forum, still waitin on my leds to arrive its been 3 weeks now hurry up i reckon :-s any way i will get pics up of b4 and after with the leds cant wait to c here are some pics of my new sump :)

Thanks guys I was pissed that my sump broke but happy sought of at the same time so I could clean up everything up including all the cables and pipe work etc just ordered a tunze ph controller and solenoid so hopefully add that next week it's all comin together now. Thanks for checkin it out guys and Marcus2529 get ready to hang theses LEDs with us there goto b here soon.

would never give up love the hobby way to much :thumbsup: couple of new additions today just a couple more little chromus so ive got 7 all up now just wish they would swim more in a school but ahhh well atleast there healthy

hey guys little update received my Tunze PH/CO2 controller set today and all hooked up thanks to like to know more :thumbsup: really good to deal with :thumbsup: wow how good are these little devices wish i purchased one earlier :)

little update and some pics currently bringing my dkh and calcium downb do i can run my calcium reactor properly with my new tunze equipment woke up this mornin with some eggs of something smerred on the dt glass picked up a new sps yesterday witch im really happy with and my leds arrive next fri so happy everything is comin along here are some amatuer pics enjoy :) :) :) :)

got my leds to day wow wat a difference from metal halids colour more vibrant and corals so more colourful wat a buy now its frag time ;) will post pics soon

alright so me and marcus2529 had a semi big day yesterday fraging his sps corals and glueing them in my tank wat fun i think i was looking forward to this more then my leds :poke: just uploading some pics now so will b up asap lets see how these suckers grow under leds :crossfingers: hopefully some good growth

hey guys so i have decided to start a new tank slowly getting bits and peices readt for my new project went to st george aquariums and orded the new 5x2x2 with litlle weir in top right hand corner and currenlt sussing out a sump design this is wat i have come up with so far let me know wat u think Image the circle things are for filter socks,
my lights for the new tank are gonna b aqua illumina and protein skimmer ati 250 power cone i will still run the same ca reactor and prob run zeo :crossfingers: will b using dead live rock to so i can aqua scape with out a prob
