Tank is tidy, is that emerald green LPS (next to the zoanthids) a Turbinara?

Thanks need to work out whether i want them growing over the rockwork or make some more flat bits for them to grow over, they have all basically covered there current small rocks.

Fishguard is finished may give it one more coat of paint but it matches that stand which is what i was after along with looking a lot more low profile than the last hood

Small update, Phosphates sitting on 0.02 steady now, the btw has split 2 times from the main mother, so have 4 including the tiny little one. Corralline still going crazy and all corals except a monti look great.

Bah rodi, I'm using tank water, it tests 0.00 constant for everything I test. Anything else I'm not worried, plus millions of years of rain on the ocean and it's the best water on the Planet. No new pics laptops on the fritz.

Cool, I would only be mindful of heavy metals in the tank water or not really that just the acidity of the rain. Either way free pure rainwater seems awesome :)

Well done with growing it all out from little frags :pirate:
Loving the new scape so far too mate, the way the shelf that stands up off the rock really does it for me ;)
Do you find the netting throws any shadows with the fierceness of LEDs?

Re: Travis' shallow led mixed reef BACTERIAL BLOOM :O

Postby fishguy23 » Sat 06 Aug, 2011 12:42 pm

well i treated for flatworms and i guess i had loads more than anticipated because i had a bacterial bloom, nothing has died yet thankfully but im keeping loads of water on hand and have been doing lots of waterchanges 460 litres in the last 5 days. :nut:
tanks been clearing up better and better each day so hopefully everything is uneffected. on the plus side no more signs of flatworms

I like the color of your lights. Do you know what number of white, blue and purple LEDs are in your unit?

thanks they are nice to look at but taking photos of the corals is annoyingly difficult
there is 119, 1 watt led consisting of 56 blue and 63 white.

holla_passer wrote:Hey mate how's the tank going? Has the bacterial bloom died down?

yer mate went away after around a week and a ridiculous amount of water changes :nut: those frags i have for you have been fragged and will be good to go in around a week assuming the weather is good.

now time for an update.
well things in the tank have been going great thanks to the dosing pumps finally being up and running properly. Have started adding sps and all are showing good Pe and retaining colour. My lone bit of dallas i have had for ages is even growing back after i thought it was dead

now for some pics
