Quick linky of a video of wavebox working in tank HERE!

edit: Not even remotely close to tuned, just set pulse as big as I could given water level. Just wanted to give it a try! Keeps stuff suspended in the water column very well!

Thanks very much mate, appreciate the kind words. It's not much, but gosh you can spend some hours on it when you don't quite have the right tool, or you forget something and have to rive back to Bunnings, etc...

So here's my hood design, with the 250w halide inside it, lumenbright (genuine) mini reflector. I'm pretty happy with how it looks right now, hopefully i'll have sump on and rolling over water tomorrow as it's quite festy in the tank right now (lots of dust and stuff).

For now, enjoy, and yes the hood does need minor adjustments will do it tomorrow most likely! :)

Simplicity is good. Stops anything detracting from the tank itself

Thanks Trish I appreciate it!

Yeah that's the plan, something which looks nice, but without being so elaborate it detracts from the stuff inside the tank!

There's two aluminium tubes running down the back (hard to see in photo due to blinds). These come up and make a L to join the hood, i've added quite a bit of "bracing" to the aluminium tubing as the tube itself is only the thin 25mm stuff from Bunnings, but it's out of view. Once I have the vinyl applied to rear of tank (had a bit of delay there) the tubes should be barely noticable.

Cheers mate, good to hear from you as your tank is of such a high caliber. Wavebox is very fun, it produces an awesome shimmer effect with the halide and produces some very cool patterns in the sand much like you'd find in the ocean.

Now I just need to go clean out the sump and give it a test run! Fingers crossed for no leaks...

Very nice, Luke

Awesome work on the stand and hood. Make's a big difference when a stand is cladded properly.

However that red apparatus sitting ontop of the tank is abit conspicuous :poke: .

Well done man ... will be watching with pleasure.

Hi Lukey,

I tried to look at your link but it didn't work for me.(came up as an unrecognised file). I'm interested in seeing the wavebox in action. If you could post again that would be great.

Thanks for kind words mate. Only using the one over the tank, light intensity drops off a little towards edges but still seems to pack plenty of punch! The middle is scorching bright, only ~18" of water for the 250w to go through, it's intense. Ballast I got from Davez (there's ya shoutout Dave :roflmao), it's an Itzmatty one, and globe 20k from Itzmatty. I'm quite liking colours for now, but we shall see!

Just moved stock over into new tank, and i'm VERY pleased with how it all looks. The colours look nicer, and the overall look is just so much better. The clowns came easily, following by the blenny, then the fairy wrasse, and lastly the yellow tang. The yellow was by far the sneakiest, the wrasse wore themselves out by throwing themselves 50cm into the air constantly. Amateur mistake WRASSE!

So pictures tomorrow, I feel like i'm going to fall down.

Hey hey hey, shush you lot.

So I took the shot but didn't like it as a true representation of my tank, so have been trying to find time to rearrange things a bit and get a video uploaded. But now i've hit a snag, tomorrow it seems I am getting a delivery of two clams, so i've decided to get them in the tank before doing photos now. I don't think they'll be -amazing- clams given the price, but hopefully they'll be a great starting point for me (and hey, I like brown ones, so whatever!).

ANTICIPATION! :D

Now guys I know there's a queue for this beard.... :roflmao:

Anyways clams arrived this morning, in a bucket getting settled in now. Can't wait to get them in the tank!

Nemos have decided this morning, that out of the 4 different nems in the tank, they would like to live in the Sinularia :wall: Oh well, whatever pleases them, silly bloody things they are... :konk: Sinularia slowly getting used to clowns rubbing against it and biting it every so often. Must drive the poor thing nuts :spit:

Oh, and also got a free hermit too, he went straight to work!

I know I know I know, no FTS yet...

BUT, I will be uploading a few pics of my recent goodies as I get to them.

Got the clams from Oceanarium, Pete is a bloody tops bloke, fast and efficient service. It was such an effortless transaction. The clams are looking better every day (really settled in today and colours more vibrant). I will HAPPILY be using him again.

So, couldn't resist and picked myself up this....

I had a nice piece but lost it in the tank transfer, I forgot it was in the bucket when changing tanks. :roflmao: :roflmao:
