Very nice clean setup both from outside and inside the cabinet. Love the aquascaping you have done gives a lot of room for the fish.

Those lumenbrights look amazing as well.

New Pics,

Did a major Re-Aquascape because i got tired of the old layout. Couldn't fit enough coral in the Pyramid Layout.

Everything is just starting to settle in its new home.

(Tank a bit Dirty...please excuse)

Enjoy.

It's a death trap!

Some great tips in your journal! Are you happy with the Stefani float valve set-up for your top-up? Looks great and very simple.

Thanks for the comments Corona! The tank is slowy starting to take shape.

The stefani float falve works great. No problems since i set it up (touch wood). Total cost of around $15

I have a 25L Water container filled with Tank Water attached to it and i have to refill that roughly every 5 days. I have just purchased a RO Unit so i will filter the Water Tank water just to insure there are no Phosphates in it.

Thanks again

Also installed a Phos Reactor so i should hopefully see some more growth soon!!

Poor pic of the Amazing Feminus but he is a hard one to catch at the best of times...

How are the Lumen bright mini's im looking at getting 3 of them with 400w ballasts to go over my 4.5'er. Just worried about my hood height, the max i could get them off the surface without modding my hood is around 11"

Tank looks great. Love that sailfin.
I'm building a very similar stand.
What type of hinges are you using?
You wouldn't happen to have a picture by any chance?

The Lumens have been great! I upgraded the bulbs about 6 months ago to Reeflux 12000k Bulbs and it made a HUGE Diff. I lifted my lights last week and they now sit 12' off the top of the water which seems to be fine. However, thet are they are only 250w not 400w. I think 250w would be fine. I was looking at putting a 3" RO T5 LED Double in the hood as well with 2 fiji Purples to add some colour.

Salfin has been around for ages!! Great Fish.
I used Piano Hinges on all doors for the stand and hood and they have been fine. I did Paint over them so excuse the picture!!

Thanks a lot for that didn't even think of attaching it to the side skin.
I was trying to think how I could attach it to the frame.
But that will work perfectly.
Thanks a lot mate.

Cheers Mate. Good to hear.

If i were to do it again i wouldnt have it in the middle. I only put it there because i had the idea of a centre pyramid aquascaping which i started with.

As you can see through the journal i changed it as i couldnt fit as much coral as i wanted. If i did it again i would cover it so you couldnt see the Pipes.

Next tank will be a 9 footer and i will have the overflow at the end of the tank. Do like the Symetrical feel though!!

Will post some more pics over the weekend!

Hi All,

Installed 2 Aqua medic reactors on the tank yesterday to help me clean up some excess nitrates.

Equip:

1 x Aqua Medic Sulphur Reactor 400
1 x Aqua Medic Hydrocarbonate Reactor 400

Very easy to set up. I was able to T Peice (included with reactor) the sulphur reactor off the Phosfusion reactor pump to feed at the required slow rate.

With the use of the taps included with each reactor i have been able to tune the output to 1 Drip per Second as suggested.

T Piece included with Reactor that i cut into Phos reactor feed pump.

Mounting Brackets are pretty serious. Quality Products.

Image

All up and Running!!

Image

Turbo Skimmer working great as usual...

Image

Overall. Reactors were easy to install and fine Tune. Will keep you posted on results.

Once lights come on for the day i will update with some FTS.

Since the introduction of the Phos Reactor, raising of Lumen Brights and dosing changes they has been some great results.

Will post soon!
