Introduction:
Hey everyone names Richo, I had a 4x2x2 that I am upgrading. As I am Wanting to change a few things that I wasn't able to on my 4 foot.

System Objectives: Biger version of my mixed reef at the moment :thumbsup:

System Type: SPS Dominated Reef.

Strike up Date: Hopefully 30.4.2014

Display Tank: [5 Ft X 3 Ft X 2 Ft] Starphire front and sides 12mm glass bevelled edges, Euro Braced with a External overflow.Bean animal overflow .

Display Lighting: ATI Hybrid 4 Foot t5 fixture.

Stand: Wood :thumbsup: reinforced with galvanised corner brackets and 4grade marine ply :clap:
Hood: No hood

Sump: 1450 x 500 x 500. [ 4 Chamber ] filter/skimmer / fuge / reactors-pumps.

Computer: Neptune Apex system .

Refugium: macro algae / live rock / chateo / Dragons breath algae.

Deep Sand Bed: No

Refugium Lighting: 2 foot t5 54W

Chiller: Teco TR15

Support systems:GEO CR 818 calc reactor

System Water: Synthetic Salt Water, Red Sea Coral Pro

Display Water circulation: 4x Vortech MP40WES & batt backup

Return Pump: Ocean runner 6500. Soon to be royal exclusive :devil:

Refugium Pump: Ocean runner 4000. For chiller and UV steriliser.

Skimmer: Bubble king double cone 250. Thanks to NICK @ AQUABELLA.

Evaporation Top Up: Tunze osmolator

Calcium Addition: Calc reactor

Alkilinity Addition: Calc reactor

Other Chemical Maintenance: Rowaphos and Rowacarbon,UV Light.

Current Water Chemistry:
Nitrates:0.01
Phosphates: 0.03
Alkalinity:7.9 dkh
Calcium:410
Salinity / Specific Gravity: 1.026
Magnesium:1390

Yeah his work is amazing.
A lot of people have recommended him and I think I got a great price on it :)

Purchased a few things needed for the startup.
Got
3 x bags or aragonite sand
Another mp 40wes
Vortech battery backup.
Ocean runner 6500,

Looking for base rock about 40-50 kgs. If anyone knows someone who is selling some let me know :)

So the tank is looking like it will be finished the end of next week :clap:

And I will now be linking my 4x2x2 up with this one and the 4foot will be a ATI hybrid lit FRAG TANK :thumbsup:
Should be able to grow some nice frags :)

Go something expensive skimmer wise!! It will be a long term tank so best u get quality

I spent a large chunk of my budget on a Bubble King SM 250, i have no regrets, it's all but bullet proof, tuning is easy and not massively affected by atmospheric changes.

Spend once on the skimmer, get a top end one on a system like this.

So I have about 8 ibcs
Decided I should clean one and use it for the initial fill.

Should have 1000L
By Thursday for the tank :)

Wish i had one of those so i coulda had my RO made up ahead of time... most agonizing weekend ever! Can't wait to see Billys latest work of art!

Thanks everyone @Ilona I usually use a 200L bin from bunnings but the tank wouldn't be full for days haha,
