Postby Htu08 » Mon 11 Nov, 2013 8:40 pm

Introduction:
This darn tank (4x1.5x1.5) I currently have is cursed! The old owner who had it upgraded soon after setting it up and now I feel the same and am planning my upgrade!
In saying that, this upgrade cant get out of hand size and cost wise and hence I've decided to go down the 6x2x2 path, as much of my equipment can be salvaged from my previous build!

So here is a space for my mindless rambling to occur, somewhere I can consolidate my thoughts and keep track of my lists.

I have no idea how you managed to drive home....

:withyou: on the help if needed though, more than happy to come up and spend a day or two assisting. Greg can tell you that I may not be able to do all that much, but an extra pair of hands can help out!

But, Sam your tank is getting wet way more soon! And I'd love to come down there and "help" (Stand around staring at how sick it is)
And perhaps try out the lucid dream thing :P

Well today I finished knocking up the frame, well most of it this morning :)

Good work Huy! Do you think it might need a couple of cross pieces on the top? Both for tank support and bracing?

What it current looks like. Still need to add in the bottom and top plates + cladding.

I sat on each top accross beam thing just in case! I mean if it can't hold a chubby asian kid, no chance for the 180gallon dt.

Been busy with days off uni!
Working night shifts and spending a few hours here and there working on the stand!

Sealer, primer and undercoat applied to all the doors and panels! (not all pictured)
Image

Stand sealed, primed and undercoated. Top panel still to be driled for plumbing and attached to the stand.

Not much has really happened since my last update.
Tank has arrived, along with return pump and heater.
Just need a skimmer now, all the other equipment from previous tank will be transferred over.

Need to be purchased/done before its up and running:
[ ] skimmer - JNS Co-2
[ ] plumbing
[ ] sand -2mm
[ ] water -NSW (1000L)
[ ] light stand
[ ] 20kg live rock
[ ] finish overflow cover
[x] filter socks
[ ] New Tubes 80w

Finished cabinet before tank arrives:

Set up:

Dismantled the cabinet to get it on

Cheers!

Tank perhaps up for sale! - Just no time. Has never been filled. Quick transactions where you bring a few mates and lift it is preferred! :)

Check the classifieds.
