Is that an IV to pump alcohol straight into your arm?

It's a latest, hot-off-the-press, revolutionary automatic alkalinity tester and doser. The future of SPS tanks is here.... Maybe :D

I'd be down for a few, till you see the price........ This is USD and still they sold the first batch out at that price:

Would be interested to see what you think of it Sam.

I think it looks too proto-type like for me to justify the $$.

It looks better in person, but my findings so far are:

1. Interface could do with some improving
2. needs to have a mount/stand or something
3. Could really do with better quality peristaltic pumps for the money
4. I'd really like some push notifications to be able to send notifications to you when alk is outside of accepted range
5. Would be good to schedule tests rather than just have a constant frequency. Be nice to say test once a night each night at 1am then again say at midday, 4pm and 7pm?
6. Be great to include some additional outputs to connect other dosing pumps (cal, mag etc.) or a cal reactor perhaps?

3. disappointing for 2k!
4,5&6. If I am going to spend that much I expect it to connect to my apex (or controller) and allow me to control the dosing remotely. Also scheduled tests would be ideal.

Thanks for the info

not that the dosing heads are that bad, standard sort of kamoer units.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone developed an apex interface for this. Would be software to software, not a physical data connection though. This unit pushes test results and dosing amounts out to "the cloud". Without knowing the apex API (if it exists...) it wouldn't be too hard?

I actually think I could. But the age old issue of producing prototypes affordably when their are working examples on the market already make me lose motivation. Also, projects like this are always ten times harder than expected so I'd get about 10-20% of the way their lol

Tritation method, but looos for a ph change instead of a colour change.

I had to give it back :(

Wasn't mine, was a mates but he had a bit on and wasn't going to be able to play with it for a couple weeks. Asked if I'd like to loan it, sort out the quirks and bring it back. Naturally I said yes. Missing it dearly, but have other things to spend that kind of cash on at the moment.

Frag tank is indeed still running and is really smashing out some colour at the moment. Growth is amazing too, gotta love Radium halides!

Couple of quick full tank shots and a neat low res progress pic. Tank is now 3 years and 4 months old, I am happy to say that it has actually surpassed my exceptions for where this tank would get to. Despite the many downs you experience, this hobby really is fantastic!
