Definitely game on.... Here's today's efforts.
Cabinet maker is a good mate to have
Image
Here's what the hood looked like, was way to overpowering so looks like we will cut it down to about 220mm rather than the 400 it is in this photo
Image
Here's with just the cabinets on. Ready for some plumbing over the weekend I think

Hey Nathan,

Thanks for helping me with my sump.
Your new tank and stand is looking great! Really looking forward to seeing your sump setup finished. I have never seen a frag tank in the sump and wow what a great idea. Cant wait to see it all up and running so good luck with it all.

thanks again

Well it shouldn't be to long now. I could actually put water in the dt as that's ready to go. Want to do some dry aquascaping first tho.
Mates coming to look at the "power situation" tonight.
Thinking we will run an independent 20a circuit for the tank.

Both sumps are built and almost finished the shelf for them to stand on. Should have that done by the weekend ready for some plumbing!

Yeah your not joking jai.

Got the electrical cupboard all but done tonight with my sparky mate.
Need to replace a couple of bits but should be all good tomorrow. Then sumps in to get plumbed and the filling may begin

Productive night, my mate came and finished the electrical cabinet. At the bottom will be the led controller and the battery for vortech backup.
Image
With the help of my wife, got the sumps in, so close about 6mm to spare, it's like someone measured that!!
Image
End view of the sumps, back sumps a bit high to get 20 litre drums into for ro, not sure what ill do about that. But it wouldn't be reefing if something didn't quite turn out.
Image
Here's the frag section with par38 and the mp10. Will add some t5 love later on.

Very nice mate.

One of the fireys I work with is also a welder, he finally has some spare time and is going to do my stand. I can't even draw it freehand though. :roflmao:

Fingers crossed it will be done soon

Looks the goods. The cabinet turned out pretty nice too.

Like the electrical panel too. What are the switches for? To turn on/off a bank of outlets?

Yeah the switches turn off 4 outlets, the theory was I can just plug all the items into one bank that I normally turn off for a water change and then just turn it back on once the water change is done. Saves me forgetting to turn back on skimmer or ATO or anything like that.

Well productive night, 1 of the sumps is up and running!!
Finished off the manifold off one of the eheims. Skimmer is running, will take a while to get dialled in. And put some of the corals from the sump into the frag section. This was 200 litres! Bit scared how much the whole things gonna hold, think ill be way over 1000litres.
