Could I please get people's thoughts on:

Size of sump - bearing in mind if I put the sump on the stand I only have 22" high for the skimmer. Or it might have to be joining sumps on the floor.

Lighting- will definitely want LED's but want advice for a 36" deep tank. Could you please give me advice on what light you would choose for $500 and below and $1000 and below to light the whole tank.

Thanks heaps everyone

Stand looks great Glynn! Unfortunately I'm still a novice so not much use to you on sumps and leds.

lighting is going to cost a bit mate if it was 3 wide and 2.5 high it would of been cheaper .

Is the tank made yet, is it to late to go 2-2.5 high?

Oh ok mate. I'm not positive which LEDs you could use to get good par on the bottom and still stay under your budget?

There's AMB and Daluss LEDs which are decently priced and powerful but they lack controllability and are 50/50 blue white

High end LEDs will cost enough to make getting a new 6x3x2 made and youd still be in front lol.

Tank is here. Thanks to MASWA for the suction cups. It made the job a lot easier. Still a bloody heavy tank with thick glass.

Looking at the tank in the background the led is a bit above the height if the new tank and the base of the little tank is lower than the big tank (that's by lining up the brick courses) so you could be lucky and use LEDs like what you have only it'll be a lot closer to the water surface ?

That sounds good Mike. The tank has high sides for mountin as well.

Nice tank you have as well. Think I will be getting a school of Anthias too. They are really nice.

Yeah you could be lucky mate and just go with another of the leds you've got now.

Thanks I'm really enjoying my tank and my Dispar's. I love watching schooling fish swim together. Get to set up my LEDs tomorrow myself.

LED = Pacific Sun Metis Hyperion R2

was a bit tricky setting up the programming as its blue tooth controlled and i'm not overly computer savvy with firmware installations etc but got it sussed (with my Bro-in law doing all the computer work lol) at about 11pm last night lol.

i'll post some pics in my TJ tonight.

You may notice the tank is now in a different spot. The wife said it wasn't practical where it was for having guests round. I guess she had a point :)

Sump has now been ordered. Unfortunately I have had to go for 2 x identical cube sumps jointed by two holes. This is due to not enough room in the stand to fit the skimmer. The skimmer height changed the whole original design.

Sand and some base rock aquascaping done :). Slowly getting there, still waiting on sump and then I can plumb it.

Looking good with the large bommie, great size tank but I would need floaties to get in and clean something that size :-) .

Still cycling, but not far off done. Shame I can't put fish in yet but I could get corals sorted once phosphates come down.
