I think it would be a shame having a good looking cabinet on a basic looking steel frame if you didn't have something to cover up all the messy electrical stuff.

Nah we left it open Brett as we have a eel in the sump and love watching him swim around.
All the elec stuff is at the end of the tank near the wall out of sight so all is good.

It has been a while so thought i better update the journal.
We have made a few changes to the rock work in the tank to alow for more room for SPS
This Sunday i will be adding the new addition of a Calcium Reactor to the system to give it the stability that i require.
Here are some tank shots with the 3 viewable sides

I had to change the skimmer stand to take the chiller underneath it to create more room.
Also the old skimmer stand was used to hold the new calcium reactor.
I also ducted the air out the nearby window.

I will try to get some pics of the calcium reactor in operation over the next couple of days.

Where do you find the time, Pete, to do all of this work to your tank? It's a beautiful display!

The reactor and second chamber are about 530mm x 150mm with a total height of about 600mm, it would probly do up to 3,000ltr tank.

Glad you like it Pete.
All the best Peter.

Here are the pics of the Calcium reactor all up and running.
I must say everything is looking great now that it is running
Image

Also while i was at it i tidied up all the cables and mounted the Tunze gear as well as the moon light controller. Had a 8 point ELCB lying around in the garage so soon made good use of that. No more pulling plugs out, just switch it off.
Mounted the Auto top up unit on the side of the calc reactor box as well. Put some insulating foam around the chiller lines to make it more efficient.
All in all everything is out of the way and easily accessed.
I never realised how much crap was lying around on the floor :roflmao:
Image

I think that is about it, next project the Luminarcs from the group buy once they arrive. ;)

Cheers

Hi Jordon,
As for the angels they seem to leave the corals alone for now but then again they get fed a couple times a day really well so they spend most of the time rubbing there bellies thinking i wish i never ate that much :roflmao:

Pete,

Think it might be time for an update mate just ordered the same calcium reactor from the master craftsman Turbo  What CO2 Reg did you use ? and how are all your water params now that its been running for a while. Have you done your light upgrade yet with the Luminarc's ? looked great to me before cannot imagine what it will look like with the Luminarc reflectors.

Pete catch up with ya soon, & say G'Day to Sue for us.
