Pete and Sue's New Beginning [Winner TOTM Apr07]

The purpose of this forum is to allow people to showcase their tanks, and allow other uses to ask questions on equipment, livestock, methodology etc.
Specifically for Large Tanks with a Volume of 800 Litres and Above

Thought i would update everyone on the contents of the the tank so here you go :thumbsup:

Stock List Main Tank as at September 9th 2006

Sump:

1 x snowflake eel (echidna nebulosa)
2 x blennies


Weir:

2 x blennies


6’6” tank

2 x golden head sleeper gobies (valenciennea strigata)
1 x blue tang (paracanthurus hepatus)
1 x purple tang (zebrasoma xanthurum)
1 x scopas tang (zebrasoma scopas)
4 x blue/green chromis (chromis viridis)
1 x dwarf hawkfish (cirrhitichthys falco)
1 x yellow choris wrasse (halichoeres chrysus)
1 x royal dottyback (Pseudochromis paccagnellae)
1 x foxface (siginas vulpinis)
1 x blue line cleaner wrasse (labroids dimidiatus)
1 x percula clown (amphiprion ocellaris)
1 x black clown (amphiprion ocellaris)
1 x coral beauty (cetropyge bispinosa)
1 x blue face angel (pomacanthus xanthometopon)
1 x mandarin (synchiropus splendidus)
1 x fairy wrasse
1 x laboutie wrasse (cirrhilabrus laboutei)
1 x blue linkia starfish (linckia laevigata)
1 x purple spotted starfish
1 x red starfish (fromia sp)
3 x misc small starfish
1 x collector urchin (tripneustes gratilla)

I really like the look of the first acro! That might colour up more! How accurate are the pictures in representing the true colour of the colonies?

The colour is pretty close to the actaul colour when looking at it from the side. When looking from the top they look great :devil:

Well here is an update on the tank.
Have added a nice Flame angel to the tank and has fitted in well with the coral beauty and the Blue faced angel.
The tank is starting to take shape and is looking good IMO just need to let it all grow now.
Ordered in a medium yellow cup coral from my supplier and i got one that is a foot across, didn't i have fun putting that in the tank :roflmao:

Looking good Pete, what halides do you have over the tank now and what reflectors are they in? love the morish idol I'm going to give one a go this year as well.

Wonderful tank and I love the Moorish Idol, what does he eat please? I would like to have one but Idols are problematic at best

Hi Peter
The lights are ones that i get in for the business they are 400w in the middle and 250w either side. They are in the reflector units that they come in with a glass shield with 14000k globes.
The Moorish idol is great just make sure that they are eating before buying.

Thanks for your nice comments the Moorish idol eats a homemade food that i make which contains marina mix with brine shrimp,nori and a whole heap of other fishy stuff the guys and gals like.

I can't see it in the photos, but did you end up putting cabinet doors on the steel frame?

I think it would be a shame having a good looking cabinet on a basic looking steel frame if you didn't have something to cover up all the messy electrical stuff.
