That is one fish I keep coming back to ie. I want one. I'm jealous Pete. (no more fish for me though until I get my tank more stable and the cyano gone).

Pete, I must agree with dennison ... your tank is just unfair! ;)

That is one really 'beautifuolo' fish. Thanks for bringing the new inhabitants over last night.

Well after many months of tripping over my Luminarc reflectors I finally pulled my finger out of you know where and got to it. First of all was a trip around town to the idustrial areas to see if i could get the track system i wanted, no luck at all.
Thought bugger it and went to Bunnings
Went to the aisle with all the door hangers and tracking systems and found a system used for internal sliding doors made by Cowdroy "Tudor Sliding Door System" model number P552. Rated to 20kg per door that was enough for what i needed.
Next stop was Aluminium Angle 25mm x 35mm x 3mm for the frame and 50 cents change out of $200 and i was off home.
First up was a basic construcion of the frame as seen below
Image
Next was the uprights to where the rollers and track will be ultimately attached.
Image
Image
Then came the fun part of lining up the track to the tank and to make sure it was square and running parallel as well.
This took the better part of an hour or so as i wanted to make sure it was right and there was a plenty of measureing going on. :roflmao:
Image
I could see the light at the end of the tunnel now and the sun was coming up as well when i started to add the lights, ballast and wiring.
Image
Here is the new reflector impressive hey ;)
Image
Here are the moonlights fitted as well.
Image
I was short one electronic Ballast so a quick visit to Tone  thanks mate and I had another ballast, raced home got the last of the lights set up and now have a light track system which i can move either side of the tank for easy access.
Image
Image
The tank now has 3 400W 14,000k metal halide lights running on electronic ballast in Diamond Lumenarc reflectors and I must say the light they put out is amazing.
One of the best investments i have put into my tank.
Here is the finished product to a point anyways. Still need to tidy up the cables with zipties and a nice timber trim is yet to come.
Image
Image
All in all I think it was worth the sleepless night  and the tank looks great.
Cheers

Oh Yea Baby!! Beaut lighting frame, Pete. You might need some of the 'coiled springy' cable stuff between the ballast and the fittings.

Thanks everyone, like i said it had been siting there a while and it needed doing but the difference in everything is amazing.
The inhabitants are certainly loving it and now some of the corals that i thought were looking ok are now just beaming.

So how come you don't get a massive algae breakout when you change your lighting Pete? What's your secret ;)

No secret really, just lucky i suppose and that my phosphate and nitrate are both zero. Being able to do water changes regulary also helps as well.
To be honest i have never had a problem when i have changed my lighting or globes.

Well it has been a while since the last post so i thought it was time for an update.
I just wasn't quite happy with the colour of the lamps one was yellow while the other 2 were a blueish tinge.
All 3 globes where 14000k lamps but just didn't look right. Was doing my usual surfing the forums and had a look at the latest reef tank on Reef Central and was absolutely gob smacked. This is one hell of a tank. Here is the link to this awesome tank Reef Central Tank Of The Month
From this tank i decided to get some new globes and decided to get the CoralVue Reeflux 12000k 400w globes.
Put the globes in today and the pictures don't do it justice. Will try to get some more pics of the goodies in the tank over the next couple of days.
Also have done a bit of a reshuffle of the tank and some minor aquascaping.

Here are the pics
