Brass will leach copper (or could)

PVC or polypropelene fittings will be all good.

Hi coral1, The tank looks great. I had only been keeping soft corals for 18 months in a 5ft tank when i started my 10ft tank. Take your time and do it right the first time, I know most of us would have said at some point that i should have done this or done that. Some people on this form can give you some very good advice like they have done for me and others. 6 months or 1 year down the track you can always change rock work, pumps, or lighting learning as you go is what we all did at some point. One thing i dont have to do is mix salt water being so close to the beach i collect my own NSW. Have a look at my tank journal you might find something that might help you.

Most of my corals have been grown from frags. My tank has been in the making for 5 years and i am now looking at building a new tank and will be selling the 10 ft this year so anyone after a big tank i have one for sale soon.

No not in salt water. It will rust / pit over time. Even top notch industrial stainless steel will not stand salt water for extended periods of time.
