sorry havent updated for a while , tank is going along nicely . this means its time for change !!
after constant issues with the lighting am now considering changing to t5s and getting rid of the 400w mhs . the blue tangs while beautiful to watch have become a menace so to remove them would mean stripping the whole tank ??the 6ft tank is also doing well just needs a little tweaking here & there .
will take some new pics and post them soon

I don't think you would need to strip the whole tank to remove the tangs.

You could setup dividers using egg crate to section areas off to make catching them easier.

Mate what a tank ,, easy way to catch menace fish i have used it many times probably upsett some people on here but go to takle shop get the smallest hooks they have and the finest line they have and tie it on to a skewer and dangle it in front of them being care full not to catch the wrong ones but its easy and all i have caught and unhooked have lived fine ,, even a wrasse that had swallowed the hook just cut it off and he was feeding again in 3 days .

I dont worry about chasing them around with the net anymore

maybe if your going to do this just grab some pliers and bend the barb on hook so its smooth....will make getting the fish off the hook alot easier
trying to replicate my little nor-west reef...well something similar for now...

there are 5 blue tangs 5 yellow tangs and 1 lipstick tang all except the lipstick were very small when first put in but now have grown ,and as they all are pigs some started to pick at clams and corals i think because over time they have stripped the rocks but still need to graze . so i feel im overstocked in tangs . hope this makes sense.

t5s have been great all the corals are still growing so thats a good sign, seem to be getting a very even coverage of light.I did worry that my anenome might not get enough but they have been up for almost three months and no sign of ill effect.
