Looks good, love the scape! A nice gap filler tank till you get your big one but I bet you still keep the small one too :-)
Oh, how I wish for soothing rain. Oh how I wish to dream again. Once and for all and all for once, Nemo my name forevermore.

The scape is pretty basic, just put in some live rock I had left over. Probably change it in the future.
The girlfriend doesn't realise it yet but this tank will most likely stay as a softy, zoa, and invert tank some where in the house :roflmao:

The sneak attack of the extra tank eh? Lull them into a false sense of security then when they aren't looking add another :-)

Bought some more corals off reef secrets during their "Sunday Night Specials" :) and ran out of room in the tank :( really need to get the bigger tank up and running.
So I had to remove some rock, which made the tank look a little bare. I finally decided that I need some substrate.
Living in miles away from any fish stores and knowing the girl friend would kill me if any more parcels from AOA turned up, I decided to make my own.
I had lots of coral skeletons from an unused live rock pile so I broke out the hammer and smashed them up until I had the size i wanted, rinsed it in rodi water then gently placed it in the bottom of the tank :)
just waiting for it all to settle then I'll start moving the corals into their final home.

update:
hot weather and slack maintenance resulted in a cyano breakout which i'm slowly getting on top of.
everything else is going well, purchased a green hammer off dave (extreme reef)! which looks fantastic. Dave was a pleasure to deal with, highly recommended!

Latest Update: added a few more corals, sold off the clownfish added a red sea star. Have been struggling with the rodi top off, not being home for the past few days has meant my poor work mate has been doing it for me.
I finally splashed out and bought a level sensor and a peri pump which I've now connected to my little RTU which I'm slowly programming up.
The RTU is now running my flow pumps, lights and now the ATO!
Heres some pics of my setup

Update:
* Well finally ran out of room in the tank for more corals. So I removed some and put them in a temp shed tank.

* ATO failed and started do a freshwater clean of the tank, luckily I was home and noticed the dosing pump was on for a lot longer then normal and was able to shut it down quickly. Discovered the level sensor was faulty, the resistance reading when the contacts were open was too low for the RTU. Should have been in the meg ohms at least (if not Over limits for my cheap meter) but was 1.5K ohms so the RTU was still able to pick up the voltage drop. A new level sensor was installed and a backup is on its way. Still trying to figure out a way to shut it down after a preset time regardless of what the level sensor says.

*Added a couple more hammers, a few rics, and a pepp shrimp (who I barely ever see)

some more rubbish smart phone pics :)

Attempting to get MODBUS protocol working on the RTU, this will allow me to monitor and adjust things remotely via a webpage.
I can get it working using a MODBUS simulator and the webpage however I'm having trouble with the RTU not sending messages, I'll try reloading the drivers and playing around some more.

Hopefully I can also get the analog outputs to control the dimming of the LEDS. I need to do some more research and see what happens.
