Once mine decide to open up properly, I'm gonna enter a Duncan... :nut:

Thats a couple of Duncanopsammia entries then.
I always thought they were notoriously slow growers.

Around 12 months ago I fragged a fist sized colony into a dozen frags with a couple of polyps each.
Now a year later they aren't noticeably larger. They just have some extra polyp buds slowly forming.
Are they always such slow growers, or is mine just a dud?

They are slow growers but I like the challenge. :)

I've never actually kept Duncans so I couldn't tell you. Ultimately I'm just interested to see how they grow under the LEDs moreso than anything... so far today since switching back to white light they're extending heaps so I guess that's something at least?

Hi guys.
Just highlighting that I had to update my two entries.
Came home from a 10 day work trip to find the auto topup had failed, and the frag rack was above water level :konk:

New frags have been cut and mounted to replace them. Just squeezed into the deadline before entries cut-off at midnight tonight. (lost the best part of a month's growth though! :wall:)

Ah that sucks Colin.

For everyone questioning about what can be fragged. It is only corals as per the rules. Maybe next time we could include things such as anemones etc.

My SPS frag is now ~6 weeks since fragging and shows noticeable growth. A couple of polyps have begun to extend to the point it looks like it will begin branching. The cut end is fully healed and beginning to shoot out a branch a few mm long. Encrusting is barely visible.

Acan frag has polyp growth, but no new ones formed.
Zoanthid frag is stagnant. No change, no growth.

I'll update photos in the next week or so.

my zoos have grown but my monti is still un the frag tank under insufficnet lighting so no growth or colour change, that light is just enough to keep SPS alive is no growth or colour change (unless going brown)

My acro has grown 3 small branches which are nearly 3/4 the size of the original frag. It has completely encrusted over the rock i stuck it on to and started to grow over the rock underneath.

Just curious Matt, is moving the tank the frags are in acceptable form? I intend to move my Acro from my pico into my frag tank once I'm up and running if it's not against the rules? I just ask because I've got a hermit that keeps smashing it :(

Should be fine as per rule 5. As long as you let everyone know the new tanks details.

Guys, please remember the entry threads are not for discussions. This will make it alot easier for the volunteers of the competition to track changes and finalise entries at the end.
