Depends. I am interested in giving this a go, but need room to set up a couple of tanks for it, which requires a house move. If I can swing that, count me in!

Dave.

Has anyone even had any spawns in the 09 challenge yet? Maybe focus on that before getting 2010 going?

I think if anyone wants to continue with that they can, but I still think holding a 2010 challenge would be a good idea. People may have more success with that one.

I stumbled across a good book that reports successful spawnings with the gobies so Im going to see if its useful, it does suggest using live black worms once a week though and Im stuck for sourcing those locally. I think the book is called 'The complete breeders guide to marine fish' or something along those lines.

not that i know of, heck i couldnt even get them to live for long enough.

Maybe focus on that before getting 2010 going?

i understand what you are saying, but there is no reason why the 2009 journals cant continue, or others start one. i plan on trying them again.

Maybe we could include a section for shrimp? One or two fish in the challenge and one species of shrimp?

maybe you could rename the breeding challenges to be:
Breeding challenge 1
Breeding challenge II
Breeding challenge C

The problem I can see with the yearly challenge is the focus will shift to the one for the following year when the other(s) have not been completed by anybody. It would also give people the opportunity to jump into a challenge at anytime throughout the year, which considering some species are not available at some times would make sense.
But hey, I'm waaaayyyyy over here in New Zealand and we are not even allowed to import some of the species that you guys are keen on breeding - Peppermint shrimp & Gobiodon spp. - so the likelyhood of me jumping in on the current challenge is zip

the forum will be changed to just "breeding challenge" with a brief description of the years/numbers.

everyone can still do coral gobies and document it
