Introduction
The Zanclidae family contains only a single genus and species, Zanclus cornutus commonly called Moorish Idol. It is a beautiful fish with such a poor captivity record that it is well out of the abilities of the majority of hobbyists and should generally be left in the ocean. Some success has been had with larger volume tanks (~2,000 litres), no better than say 30% success rate, with the success rates in smaller tanks much much worse.
